Starting shot corn drills

The ground temperature is only just right at first. We hope that temperatures will continue to rise over the next few days to avoid exposing the corn to cold stress during germination. Nevertheless, we take the risk due to the existing soil moisture. A soil that is too wet can lead to compaction and poor rooting. Ideally, the soil should be moist enough to support optimal germination and root development, but not too wet to avoid drainage problems.
